A warning to those who may be tempted to replicate this: High power ultrasound (over 110dB) has been approved for use in directional sound applications by many health institutions, however there remains some uncertainty as to whether this safety standard should be revisited. While I can only speak for myself in observing no ill effects from significant exposure to the directed ultrasound from this device, be cautious to avoid unnecessary exposure at close range. Needless to say, get the OK from somebody before pointing a device like this at them.
